About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Residential Construction Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately estimating construction project costs, crafting comprehensive proposals, and collaborating with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain project pricing. Additionally, you will need to be able to assist with other project tasks as required by other team members.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct site surveys for potential new projects and manage the tendering process.
Develop and supply tenders and tender acceptance forms
Research and source suppliers and sub-contractors
Negotiate and obtain the best prices and quotes
Develop site schedules of works and manage project variations
Procure and manage materials for projects
Plan project costs, variations, and forecasts, including generating interim valuations
Working closely with key members of the project team
Other Responsibilities (as needed):
Maintain pre-construction project programmes using Team Gantt software.
Create CDM’s and CPP’s.
Create client finishes and decorating specification sheets.
Create progress reports to accompany interim valuations.
Prepare certificates of payment and handle invoicing
Skills:
Proven experience in estimating within the residential construction industry.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and other construction software and tools.
Strong Numeracy Skills
Attention to detail and a methodical approach to work
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Team-oriented professional attitude.
